Last year I designed a website that would highlight vendor-specific product deals that were available to customers through ScanSource. While this information was available in other locations throughout their primary website, there was not a central location for customers to view these deals in an easily digestible presentation. It was so successful that in early 2012, I redesigned the website with a Poker theme that they called The Deal and added gaming elements that would drive traffic back to the site where they would see new product deals throughout each month.
In the game, users are dealt two coded cards via snail mail that, once received, they enter at The Deal website. At the website they’ll see five cards, two of which are the coded cards they were mailed and three community cards. After they enter their code, all five cards are revealed, showing the user their hand and earning them points towards a trip to Las Vegas.
